I spend a lot of time building a skeleton with bones, slots, and skin attachments and setting it all up with my first round of images. This for example, creates the Orc Warboy.
Then I go in and draw and load the images for 7-8 other skins into the same skeleton (Savage Orc, Orc 2H Axe, Orc Berserk, Orc Shaman, Great Shaman, Orc Warboss, Orc Warboss with Spear).
During this process I end up doing a short procedure so many times:
- Copy a skin
- Go to 50% of the attachments in the skin (depending on the new variety) and Delete Region (this is what F1 tooltip says, I would have said "Delete Image").
- Set the parent on a new image to the same skin attachment.
- Position the new image (often I will consult the old skin for rotation, x, y) so that it fits in the same way.
I have recently been Exporting the Spine to JSON, and using text editor to accomplish this faster, than then re-importing the Spine.
What I'd really love is a "Replace Region" option that takes one image and replaces it over another image, assuming all of its rotate, translate, and scale properties at the moment of replacement. Wow, then I would FLY when using Spine. This would cut down on a good deal of my repetitive hours spent clicking, dragging and repositioning!
